Do you write articles that pull a disappointing level of readers and click-throughs to your website? Don't be discouraged; it's all a part of growing and learning. Most of us haven't arrived to our destiny of getting all the readers we want. Professionals including Internet Marketing gurus (if they are honest) will tell you it takes consistency and persistence to achieve success in any field.
So what's my point? My point is every now and then I get a spike in readers and click throughs that has little to do with my normal growth pattern from consistently submitting articles. I have a secret to share with you that consistently raises my number of readers by at least 300% each time. It's called the Negative Slant Article Template.
ARTICLE TEMPLATE - NEGATIVE SLANT
Have you found valuable information hidden behind a negative titled article? I know I have. I haven't quite figured out what it is about us (humans) that makes us attracted to the negative. Perhaps, the tabloids, Jerry Springer Show and all those like his have figured it out. It was the case with my friend's article titled, "5 Mistakes That Stamp Loser..." He discovered that article did 3 times as well as other articles submitted in the same month.
Most of us hate missing out and we hate feeling embarrassed or rejected. If your title hints that the reader may miss out or appear foolish if he doesn't have your information, it will draw double and sometimes triple the amount of readers than normal.
Even so, I caution you to use sparingly; you don't want to somehow build a reputation on the negative. You might discover you are attracting the negative into your life. I'm an optimist but even I have my bad attitude days. Here's how you can work a bad attitude to your advantage:
The Title Template and Samples
"5 ____ Mistakes That Stamp ________ On Your _______"
Title Samples
o Stop Killing Your Business Dream With Wrong Thinking
o 6 Common Mistakes That May Stamp STUPID on Your Articles
o 5 Customer Service Mistakes That Stamp UNPROFESSIONAL On Your Business
If this is your first article five is always a good number to start with. It's not too overwhelming to come up with 5 tips and it's not too skimpy to offer your readers substance.
Now write an introduction about the mistakes and blunders they may be making and want to avoid. Emphasize the risks and encourage your reader to keep reading for the solutions. End the introduction with a short list of benefits to the reader when they get these mistakes corrected.
Next, list the most common mistakes; usually between five to ten mistakes are good for your article. End your article with a reminder of what your reader may miss if they don't use your tips. Then finalize with an encouraging thought and a wish for their success.
Don't forget to put a biography paragraph at the very end. Upgrade your bio box with Web 2.0 elements that entice and engage your reader. Invite them to your website for a free special offer, a report or mini-course.
